Mark Brophy is a Qi Gong therapist certified by the Chinese Healing Arts Center in Danbury, Connecticut and a professional member of the National Qi Gong Association. Since the age of 17, Mark has studied various martial arts and meditation disciplines including Hapkido, Kenpo, Tai Chi Ch’uan, Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do, and Filipino martial arts. For more than five years, Mark put his training to professional use as a sworn deputy sheriff and police officer in New York State. He taught and practiced defensive tactics at a local police academy until 1999, when he left the field of police work and opened a private Qi Gong therapy practice in Rochester, New York.
Mark currently pursues advanced Qi Gong Studies with Grand Master Tzu Kuo Shih and Master Donald Londorf at the Chinese Healing Arts Center in Rochester, New York and Master Kenneth Cohen of The Qi Gong Research & Practice Center in Nederland, Colorado. Mark has also recently been granted a Lifetime Certification for teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong Wellness from internationally renowned teacher Shifu Jianye Jiang in Albany, New York.
Mark Brophy moved his family to Columbia, South Carolina in 2005. He is pleased to offer an alternative to help people deal with stress, overcome illness, and promote general well being. He brings an open mind to his practice and a commitment to helping his students achieve their very best.
